Mentoring
Over the past few weeks, work did end up hiring two new website developers with no experience or with minimal experience. One can build simple sites on a CMS but can't program, the other knows programming but doesn't know what a CMS is. I was the same 10 months ago. As a result, right now most of my work time goes to training them, helping out, and switching between different tasks. I enjoy helping and teaching, especially when others actually need it — that way I reinforce my own knowledge and learn something new. But management, not so much...
P.S. Sitting a web programmer in 2010 down at a computer with 192 MB of RAM is not even cruel, it's just... I shouldn't have complained about those two months of working with 512 MB of RAM.
