Winter sites
I've worked another three months. Now at a proper computer and in a room separate from the managers, a good spot, though I miss the company of the cat Dasha a little — she lives in Khersonstroy and sometimes drops by the office. She visited our room only once, when the managers weren't watching and she managed to squeeze through the hole for cables in the wall :) And the window is farther away now, but that's fine, on the plus side I work at a big 19-inch monitor, which doesn't tire the eyes as much.
I've gotten more comfortable with Joomla, though I still never learned to program for it, I don't see the point in that. You can find everything ready-made and tweak it to the client's needs. I didn't learn much new in PHP either, there's no need to build sites from scratch, and you can figure out any ready-made one, as long as you have the skills. I've gotten a better handle on SEO, but that's more for myself, since by job title I'm a programmer and we promote local companies' sites, and in this market there isn't much competition in that respect — everyone uses outdated, even harmful, promotion methods and clients are willing to pay for them, there's a years-long reputation, and some fairly prestigious clients too. And if you look at how other firms in town promote and optimize sites, then we're still pretty far ahead.
And now a list of what I worked on at the job over the winter:
oriflame-ok.com — wrote a script that loads the online Oriflame catalog from the oriflame.ua site, so that the site owners can update the catalog themselves; today I just added AJAX loading to it.

inva.com.ua — porting a static site and the markup of a new design to Joomla! Installing and modifying components, modules, and plugins. Migrating and cleaning up static content. Creating 301 and 303 redirects for requests to the old addresses.
santehural.ru — porting another store's design into the WebAsyst Shop-Script template, changes to the script's templates, changes and fixes to the online store engine's scripts (splitting news into news and articles, modifying the simple search into an advanced search by additional product characteristics).
orient-trading.ru — porting the built design onto the firm's in-house engine, changes to the engine's scripts for the specific online store.
labreklama.ru — porting the built design to Joomla!, installing the necessary components, modules, plugins, their modifications and configuration to the client's needs.
*.kamin.su — finding and changing the required content in static sites.
mebelok.com.ua — porting a static site and the markup of a new design to Joomla! Installing and modifying components, modules, and plugins. Migrating and cleaning up static content. Creating 301 and 303 redirects for requests to the old addresses, consolidating the domain... Site manual.

dveri96.ru — changes to WebAsyst Shop-Script scripts and templates (implementing pagination for the results of the modified search by product characteristics, fixing the separate display of news and articles).
driada.net.ua — porting a static bilingual site with a catalog and the markup of a new design to Joomla! and JoomFish. Installing and modifying components, modules, and plugins (the option to order products via BreezingForms), migrating and cleaning up static content, SEO.
vitalitys-moscow.ru — porting the built design to Joomla!, installing the necessary components, modules, plugins, their modifications and configuration to the client's needs, SEO. Implementing a catalog on sCatalog and ordering on BreezingForms.

Apiphytocenter "Tentorium" Kherson — porting the built design onto the firm's in-house engine, changes to the engine's scripts for the specific online store.
bizukov.org — porting a static site and its corrected markup to Joomla!, adding a second language via JoomFish. Installing and modifying components, modules, and plugins, migrating and cleaning up static content, SEO.
The results of the last two jobs aren't available online yet. I'm still just working on the men's monastery site http://www.bizukov.org, quite an interesting project, I didn't know there was such a thing in the region.
Yes, a lot of copy-paste comes out in the descriptions, but with each project I learn something new, discover things and raise the quality, and if there's time, I improve already finished sites. I didn't describe such improvements and other minor refinements here for the sites listed in the previous entry.
