Finished my first site on Drupal 6: http://kddf.in.ua

Of course, there's still the move to do, fixing up the layout of the inner pages, adding the missing interface translations and optimizing for search engines, but the main part is done. I haven't figured the system out completely yet, I realize I didn't implement everything nicely and correctly. I didn't figure out how to make my own styles for Views or how to properly theme the existing ones, how to properly theme each menu of the site and specify paths to the theme files inside functions and templates. And other little things aren't implemented well either, I think it's fine for the first time, and I've already spent more than a full day of actual working time creating the site and moving the layout, with most of the time going into searching and learning how to implement and configure some things.

I looked over the report for April. According to it, last month I did something for 29 different clients. If you count the fact that some clients have several projects each, it comes out to more than 30 sites. This is the fallout from a programmer quitting, which left me with his unfinished work and orders to redo things.

At the same time, I managed to read a couple of books: "Building Powerful and Robust Websites with Drupal 6" and "Drupal E-commerce with Ubercart 2.x". I also started reading "Drupal 6 Search Engine Optimization", but I think I'll set it aside and move on to "Pro Drupal Development, Second Edition", since I took on a couple of sites and saw that what's in the first two books isn't enough to implement what I had in mind. Yes, I decided to dig in and partially switch to Drupal. I haven't fully studied Joomla!, but I've already built about 20 sites on it, and I've worked with even more than that, and the more closely I look at it, the more unpleasant stuff keeps surfacing. I hope that in May I'll be able to add a few Drupal sites to what's already done.
