Blog traffic, hitting the top charts

Yesterday, at the request of kovudragon, I made a repost of his entry. Since my blog is older, syndicated to Twitter and better indexed, the repost was the first to land in "Yandex.Blog Search," from where it was viewed by more than 700 people over a few hours. Then Yandex figured out where the original was and hid the repost from the results, just as it has now also hidden the original entry because of its age.

But that was enough to make it into the Top-100 Runet blogs by traffic. Right now the LJ statistics show that yesterday exactly 800 unique visitors came to my blog, and Google Analytics shows a traffic increase of 7,863.64%. For me, 50 visitors a day is usually already a great result. My repost was followed by others too; I had disabled comments on my own post, so kovudragon had even better results — congrats to him! BIGCATS.RU got a little something out of it too — only about 20 visitors from the original entry, which had a link to the forum.

Now I know for sure what the majority reads. Maybe it's even a good thing that I'm not interested in such topics and don't write about them. I prefer to publish what interests me and a few others, and it's fine that the masses don't need it. It's cozier that way.
