Faith through logic

It explained well how faith works and is built. In the film the main characters, a detective and a priest, believe in the same things, but came to that faith by different paths - through logic and through religion respectively.

It also explains well how faith gets used in a harmful way, with the example of the murdered pastor. That such people are everywhere, and that even faith in the kindest things can be weaponized and used to do harm, in order to gain power and destroy opponents.

I think this helped me feel less troubled and worried that some people call my pro-Ukrainian position ambiguous or pro-Russian. Since 2014 I've been steadily for Ukraine and against russia, since 2014 I spoke out against the annexation of Crimea and against russian imperialism, and now against russian culture, yet some Ukrainians still file me under pro-Russian.

I hold a pro-Ukrainian position steadily and arrived at it through logic, I justify it logically, and for some people that's unacceptable - for them a pro-Ukrainian position is something that can't even be discussed, it's a fact you have to follow, to live by, it's their identity.

But I can't believe blindly, I need to justify my faith logically, and to many people logical justifications look like a threat to their blind faith, like an undermining of their identity and everything they live by, so it triggers them and they see me as taking a hostile anti-Ukrainian position.

I'll have to watch "Wake Up, Dead Man" again, and more than once.
