Steam / Magic: The Gathering
Registered and made my first purchase on Steam. It's all pretty simple. The occasion for it was the release of Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers on PC. At first I downloaded it via torrents and tried it out, but the crack kept getting deleted by antiviruses, and I couldn't play online, which is what made me buy the license. I know it could have been bought through XBLM a year ago already, but I had no desire to massively overpay and get entangled with various middlemen. And I don't see the point of playing something like this on a console — on a laptop, it's just right. So I didn't think to wait until it shows up in the PSN Store in the fall.
An idiot's dream come true :) For about ten years I'd wanted to play MTG, ever since I read about it in one of the first issues of MIK magazine. There just was no way to, no acquaintances through whom I could acquire cards or play with. I played a little at the lyceum with yet another MTG clone based on "The Lord of the Rings" that was sold everywhere, but the selection of cards was small and the cards themselves were primitive. With the arrival of a computer I went through the campaigns in "Demiurgi," which were released as a spin-off — they got boring quickly, while the hardcore online versions of the game, for experienced players, didn't suit me. Now I'll be able to play my fill of Magic; I know it's not a full-fledged replacement for the card game, but for a beginner it's just right.
Interestingly, in the Steam Community I managed to grab the id with my gaming nickname without any modifications, even though it's not unique. Anyway, here's my profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/antihunter
