It Happened Before the Amphorae II: Putin and the Snow Leopard
Incidentally, the story with the tigress is not the only one "of its kind". An analogous "storyline" with the snow leopard (irbis) Mongol from the Sayano-Shushensky State Biosphere Reserve (Krasnoyarsk Krai) began on 14 March 2011. It was then that staff of the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution captured a male snow leopard as part of a program to study and monitor the snow leopard population in Southern Siberia. The purpose of the capture, in accordance with the permit issued by Rosprirodnadzor, was to attach a satellite collar to the animal and then release it into the wild.
